The spotlight is on the youth of India!  Even as the Next Great Entrepreneur draws towards its grand finale tomorrow, the big question is – will Delhi’s young minds dazzle the audience with their innovative ideas? So far, things look promising and the results are expected to be great.

The Next Great Entrepreneur is a one-of-a-kind event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the US Embassy, and the Indian Angel Network (IAN). The event serves as a platform for the Indian youth, providing them with the opportunity to turn their ideas into a business plan and present it to the finest corporate minds in the country.

The event has generated tremendous response among the young population studying in the national capital region. In the first phase of the competition, over 600 business ideas were received related to the three separate categories – General Business Plan, Green Business Plan, and Women’s Economic Empowerment. These were painstakingly evaluated and sifted through to shortlist the 30 best ones which were mentored by leading business minds before being presented to the Jury for the final selection.

The grand finale is being held on March 23, 2013, between 4 pm and 7 pm at Federation House, FICCI. This highly anticipated culmination of the competition will be attended by prominent business leaders, venture capitalist, and young entrepreneurs from around the country.

Ms. Kavita Singh, a successful entrepreneur and the CEO of Futureworks Consulting, hails the event as a positive step forward. She is of the opinion that entrepreneurship is extremely relevant given the financial instability of current times. It holds the key to solving economic challenges of the 21st century by creating jobs, boosting economic growth and building sustainable development.

Scheduled to teach US College students a 4-credit course at IES Abroad on the topic of Entrepreneurship and Social Entrepreneurship later this year, Ms. Singh points out that India holds an important position on the international economic scene.Youth from around the world are looking towards India for entrepreneurial initiative. Expectations are high, but Ms. Singh is convinced that the country’s young minds will not disappoint and steal the show once again.
