Recommendations are a very important part of every application! If you are unsure about how to pick your recommenders and how to approach them, then we can provide you expert advice on this. We will also work with you to decide whether or not you should consider sending in supplemental recommendations and if so how you should approach your recommenders to do this.

Often candidates ignore events because they are worried that they are trivial or too personal, however these very events can make incredible stories. Once we have decided the topic to focus on, we then help you think about how to structure your essay to make the most impact. We will work with you on your drafts to assess them for impact, clarity and distinctiveness in reference to admission essay examples. We encourage you to do multiple drafts, getting our feedback on each one, so that you can perfect your essay.

Have you written your essay, but are struggling to edit it down to the strict word count that many applications have? We can help you to edit the essay without losing your tone, style, personality and count – and still keep it within the required word count.

Is this the first time you are interviewing? Do you get nervous during interviews? In either situation, practise can make perfect! So if you would like you can do mock interviews with us during which time we will ask you interview questions, from our extensive bank of questions that have been asked in actual interviews, and give you feedback on how to improve each of your answers. We have two mock interview packages:

• Option A: 1 hour mock session along with guidelines on how to perform better.
• Option B: 3 mock interview sessions, guidelines and practise material.

Have you been deferred or waitlisted at one of your dream schools? If so, there are a lot of things you can do in the waitlist process try to turn a ‘maybe’ into a ‘yes’. We will review your application, your interview notes and discuss your background to devise a waitlist strategy for you so that you stay top of mind with the admissions committee.

In case you were wondering, in the US a rejection is called a ‘ding’! If you have received a ‘ding’ and want to know what you could have done better – we can help. Understanding what you could have done to improve your chances can help you improve other applications you are working on and help you with interviews that may be coming up soon. A consultant will review an application that unfortunately got you a “ding”. He or she will share with you the probable reasons for the ding and advise you on the best way to utilize this information going forward – for future applications, interviews or waitlists that you may receive.

Confused about how a Personal Statement in the U.K. application process is different to the Personal Essays in the U.S. application process? Unlike the US, the UK and other countries ask you for a Personal Statement as part of the application process. This personal statement is written very differently to the way an essay for the U.S. application process is written.
